Caniwi Capital’s Private Equity Fund was formed in 2009 as a fund focused on investments in established, high quality small to medium enterprises (SME’s) with a history of profitability.
The private markets of New Zealand are dominated by SME’s who have funded their businesses through family connections and debt raised over personal assets such as the home of the business owner. Recent studies show that most of these businesses have aspirations to grow and the majority are also concerned about succession planning, with over 60% of business owners approaching retirement age. For these companies reaching their potential or achieving a capital release or reorganisation typically requires additional resources in the form of external capital and management expertise. Caniwi Capital can assist with both capital investment and management expertise. The type of investment made by Caniwi Capital will be tailored to suit the circumstances; whether it is the purchase of 100% of a business or a minority investment working along-side existing owners.
Caniwi Capital provides an avenue for the SME market to access the capital and expertise required to grow while providing for necessary succession planning or a exit of a majority shareholder.
The team at Caniwi Capital are interested to talk to business owners looking to realise all or part of their business investment or just planning for a near term exit. All conversations are discreet and confidential. Please contact Des Gittings or Troy Bowker if you wish to make an enquiry.
